The brief for this kitchen was “shaker but not shaker”. We answered it by mixing the traditionally crafted units with a plain grooved wall that conceals not only a tall fridge and freezer but also a drinks station and a door to a hidden pantry.
The whole space benefits from the symmetry and clean lines with the hand-painted finish unifying texture. This, along with choosing plain handles and omitting butt hinges, made a smooth transition between classic and contemporary.
